Victorine Originals Challenge #9 ~ Wings

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a new challenge at the Victorine Originals blog with the theme of "Wings". Here is what I created for inspiration!
I started by creating the background for the bird cages with Canson XL Watercolor paper and used Distress Inks in Shaded Lilac, Mustard Seed, and Worn Lipstick with my aqua brush to watercolor.  I waited for that to dry then stamped the Victorine Originals Bird Cages stamp using Versafine Onyx Black ink and my stamp tool.  I carefully trimmed the stamped image apart and layered it on black cardstock, then adhered it to my card base.
The sentiment is from the V.O. Elegant Sayings stamp set.  The enamel dots are from GMD Sunset colors.
Here is the wonderful inspiration board for the current challenge:
Head on over to the Victorine Originals blog and check out their challenge post. You have two weeks to enter your project/s that follow the above theme and/or color scheme. They do not have to use Victorine Originals stamps on them. We can't wait to see what you create!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Shaped Heart Card

Hello all!  I am sharing a shaped heart card with you today.  I started out by making the card base using the largest GMD Big and Little Pierced Chain Heart die.
I layered that with a GMD Lacey Doily die cut and two die cuts of the smallest GMD Big and Little Pierced Chain Heart die.  I wrapped Krazy For Kraft Trendy Twine around the front, added a small sentiment on a tag and a key charm.  The finishing touch was two GMD Rose Garden Enamel Dots on the small heart.  The papers I used are from the 6x6" Love You pad from The Paper Studio.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Grapevine Card

Hello everyone!  We made it halfway through the week :)  Today I have this grapevine card to share with you.
The dies that I used are GMD Grapevine die set and GMD Up & Down In & Out Cut Square die set.  The patterned papers are from DCWV's Bouquet De Fleur stack.  I inked around the outside of the grape die cuts with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.  The outside purple frame layer is popped up with foam tape to create a shadowbox effect for the inside area of the card.
This beautiful scripture verse stamp is from Verve Stamp's Faith Medley set.  I stamped it using Versafine Onyx Black ink and my Hampton Art Stamp Press.  The only embellishment I used on this card was three enamel dots from the GMD Tropical Island colors.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Back To School Projects

Hello all!  Today is my day to post on the SVG Attic blog.  With school starting tomorrow, of course I had to go with that theme!
First up, I made the 16 count crayon box file from JGW Back 2 School which fit a delicious homemade peanut butter M&M cookie in a snack sized ziploc bag perfectly!  (The recipe for the cookies can be found HERE if you are interested!)  I tied Midnight Trendy Twine around the boxes.
I made cards using coordinating paper from DCWV's  Grade School stack.  The two pencil cards are for my older boys who will be going into 2nd and 5th grade.  That file is also from JGW Back 2 School.  I added pink enamel dots from GMD Beach Party dots.  The panel I wrote on is actually the negative cuts from the window opening on the crayon boxes.
My little guy is going into Jr. Kindergarten this year during the afternoons, so I made a different card for him.  The file for the apple card is from SDS Gearing Up 4 School.  This card has a bow of Midnight Trendy Twine and enamel dots from GMD Watermelon colors.

Trendy Twine ~ Nautical Treat Bag

Happy Thursday! I am sharing this fun nautical themed treat bag on the Trendy Twine blog today.
I started by filling a Kraft Chevron Treat Bag with some chocolate candy and decorated it with the cute "Feeling Nauti" printable from the Fun In The Sun printables and red and navy cardstock die cut squares.
In The Navy Trendy Twine was wrapped around the length of the bag twice and then I created the rope with more of that twine using the Sizzix Twist N Style tool.  I chose red sequins from the Christmas Shaker Medley and some white enamel dots for embellishments.  The sequins and twine were adhered with Glue Dots stitch glue squares.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Butterfly Frame Card

Hello all! Happy Wednesday. Today is my day to post on the Victorine Originals blog.
I created this card using a butterfly stamp from the VO Wings set and the sentiment stamp from the VO Butterfly set.   Both were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink on prints from DCWV's Lilac Love stack.  The butterfly was embellished with White Nuvo Crystal Drops and white gel pen.
Additional products used include GMD Triburst stencil with homemade embossing paste, Grape Fizz Trendy Twine, GMD Floral Frame set die, GMD Spring Flower Arrangements dies and sage green paint. The recipe I used for the embossing paste is:  1/4 cup corn starch, 1 Tbsp. Elmer's School Glue, 1 Tbsp. Acrylic Paint (I used white but you can use any color) and small amount of water, just enough to make the mix into a paste.  I used the paste on watercolor paper for extra stability.
Remember, we have our Purple challenge going on right now! Here is the inspiration photo for it. You can use the pictures, theme, and/or colors to enter.

Just Keep Swimming Card

Hello all!  Today I have this fun fish card to share with you.
I used the GMD stitched cloud border dies to create several elements on this card.  I used the negative from one of the water cuts to create clouds in the sky by blending Salty Ocean Distress Ink with it.
The waves were created using the GMD stitched cloud border dies and papers from Echo Park's Paradise Beach 6x6 paper pad and vellum.  I outlined the waves with some glitter glue too.  The sand layer was also created with the cloud border die.  The fish die was GMD Tropical Fish #1.  I added some GMD Nautical Ocean dots to simulate bubbles near the fish.
For the sentiment, I just printed it from my computer onto more of the Paradise Beach patterned paper.  I wrapped the banner with Aqua Midnight Trendy Twine.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Floral Silhouette Card

Happy Monday!  This card is bright and beautiful and hopefully it will set your week off with a smile :)
I started off by cutting white cardstock with the largest GMD stitched rectangle die.  On that I blended Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.
I splattered that with water and dabbed it off with a paper towel, then I watered down some Martha Stewart Sugar Cube Acrylic Paint (glitter) and splattered that on the background as well.  I then heat set it all.
I ended up trimming a bit of that die cut background paper off of each side so I could add a layer of black cardstock behind it.  The GMD Large Flower Corner Silhouette die was a beautiful addition to the card.  I wrapped Totally Black Trendy Twine around the front before adhering with Tombow Xtreme.
The sentiment is from APB Smile stamp set and I used Versafine Onyx Black ink with it.  The finishing touch was three GMD Patriotic Sparkle enamel dots.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

All of the patterned papers are from DCWV's Lilac Love stack.  I used GMD stitched rectangle and GMD scalloped stitched rectangle dies for the background.  I embellished with Grape Fizz Trendy Twine and enamel dots from GMD Purple Trio colors and GMD Sunset colors.

Star Birthday Card

Happy Thursday all!  I am always creating birthday cards and love it when they come together just as I plan.  This card is one of those that I really love how it turned out!
I used BoBunny Bold & Bright Double Dot papers, GMD stitched rectangle dies and GMD Cut In Cut Out Star Die set to create it.  Those dies are so awesome!  They have 3 ways to use each size of star as you can see in the picture below.
I embellished with GMD Tropical Island enamel dots and stamped a sentiment from Victorine Originals' Floral and Sayings stamp set.  The white panel, the sentiment banner, and a couple of the stars are popped up with Scotch foam tape.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Back to School with Oriental Trading

Hello all!   I recently received these items from Oriental Trading and I let my boys explore their creative side and make back to school artwork!
Those sheets of Large Art Paper were so much fun for them!  They measure 17" x 22" and held up to the Crayola markers, colored pencils and crayons well.  Plus the pack comes with 150 sheets so there is PLENTY for lots and lots of fun!
Both of my older boys made posters that were specific to their likes and what grade they will be going into in just 2 short weeks.
They added all sorts of embellishments from the Super Rainbow Bulk Craft Assortment: gems, buttons, googly eyes, and adhesive foam shapes.  They also loved adding washi tape from the Primary Solid Colors Washi Tape Set.
They even used pipe cleaners and pom poms which I helped them adhere with
Surebonder® Cool Shot™ Low Temperature Mini Glue Sticks.
Here are all 3 of my boys with their artwork!  My littlest one is going into preschool this year, so he had to make one as well!
And close ups...
It was breezy outside when I was taking these pictures so they got a little wrinkled.  Oh well, the kids didn't mind that one bit!

So if you are a teacher or even a parent who has a back to school list, make sure to check out all the products Oriental Trading has to offer!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
